To use the Area Calculator, follow these steps:
- Select the Shape:
- Start by choosing the shape for which you want to calculate the area from the dropdown menu (e.g., Rectangle, Triangle, Circle, etc.).
- Select the Unit:
- Choose the unit of measurement from the unit dropdown. Available units include feet, meters, yards, inches, miles, centimeters, and kilometers. The calculator will convert your input dimensions accordingly.
- Enter Dimensions:
- Based on your shape selection, specific input fields will appear for entering dimensions.
- Rectangle: Enter length and width.
- Triangle: Enter base and height.
- Trapezoid: Enter the two bases and height.
- Circle: Enter the radius.
- Sector: Enter the radius and the angle (in degrees).
- Ellipse: Enter the semi-major axis (a) and semi-minor axis (b).
- Parallelogram: Enter the base and height.
- Calculate the Area:
- Click the “Calculate Area” button. The calculator will process your inputs and display the calculated area below, formatted as “Area: X square units.”
- Clear Fields:
- To reset all fields, click the “Clear” button. This will clear all input fields and the result, allowing you to perform a new calculation.
Example Usage:
- If you select a Rectangle and set the unit to “Feet,” enter values for length and width, then click “Calculate Area.” The result will show the area in square feet.
